What should I expect when I’m starting out?
In real estate you are your own boss, running your own business with some upfront expenses. Typically you can expect to invest between $1,400 to $ 2,000 during the first 60 to 90 days to cover your real estate school, state exam, marketing materials, Board of REALTORS® and Multiple Listing Service dues and other items depending on how aggressively you want to launch your career. Don’t expect a paycheck for the first few months. Real estate sales are paid on a commission basis and it takes time to establish and build your customer base.
